John Hewitt & the New Americans bring heartfelt songwriting and rich folk textures to the Lethbridge Folk Club Prairie Folk Sessions, blending stories of home, travel, and everyday life.
John Hewitt is currently fronting a trio called the New Americans, who perform a rootsy mix of anthemic heartland ballads, honky-tonk shuffles, and up-tempo rockers.
By joining this event, you help support live folk music in our community and give space to artists who keep these songs and stories alive.

Welcome to The Buffalo Sessions, a new monthly Nashville-style songwriter round live from the Buffalo Showroom at Pure Casino Lethbridge.
Hosted by Veronica Raine, each Buffalo Sessions brings Veronica together with two guest songwriters for an intimate evening of original music, storytelling and conversation.
For our September session, Veronica is joined by Leanne Lightfoot and Toni Vere.
Inspired by the songwriter rounds made famous in Nashville, all three artists share the stage together, taking turns performing their original songs and giving you a glimpse into the stories, people and moments that inspired them.
No opening acts. No backing bands. Just three songwriters, their instruments and their songs.
The evening features two rounds, with each songwriter performing three songs per round.
